Here is a quick way to redeem a promo code from iTunes:

1. Open iTunes > iTunes Store

You will see a screen as shown below.

2. Click on the option "REDEEM" in Quick links on the Right Hand Column Tab as highlighted in the screenshot above.

3. Enter the promo code in the Redeem Code Text Box, Click Redeem asn you are all set!.

Here is a quick way to redeem a promo code from iPhone/iPod Touch (3.0 OS):

1. Open "App Store" Application click on the "Featured" tab and then scroll to down till the end:

You will see a screen as shown below.

2. Click on the option "REDEEM" to see a screen as shown below.

3. Enter the promo code in the Redeem Code Text Box, Click Redeem and you are all set!.
